Fun on the Farm with Buddy - Training Tips

Hello!

Buddy here again! Today's message is for all you motocross racers out there.

I want to give you a little tip while you're training for motocross! That little tip is to "Change things up". You see, since I have to train daily to stay a super fast racer, I have to change it up from time to time to keep things interesting!

Why would you change it up, if things are working you might ask? There are a few reasons to change things up a little. To explain, let me share a little story with you about my earlier days of racing.

Let's go back when to I started racing. As you already know, Andy took me to my first race and I did really well. But what happened after that is what you probably don't know.

After that first race, Andy and I were pumped up. We knew we could race now and we decided we were going to try to race with the best. So we started training. We put a training plan together and every day we would execute that plan. In the beginning, we were getting better and better. But then all of a sudden, things seemed to change. The training wasn't really any fun anymore. On top of that, we stopped improving too. We were stuck going nowhere...

One day, when we were getting ready for the day, Andy asked, "Do you want to have a little fun today?". I, of course, replied, "Heck ya!" and we tore off toward the farm!

Let me just say that it was the most fun we'd had in a while! We rode up and down the pastures and through the wooded areas. The cows' moo'd at us cheering us on. The horses galloped alongside us, trying to race us. The pigs created a giant mud pit for us to ride in! All the animals on the farm were joining in the fun. It was super fun!

After that things started to change for us. Our riding improved, not because we were training more but because we were having fun again!

What I'm trying to get at here, is that you can (and should) have a training plan. BUT you need to switch things up here and there and make it fun! To be successful, you need to "want" to do it and you're not going to want to do it if it's not fun. So make it fun!

Make it a fun training day!
Buddy
